THINK DiSC!
***How to work with the D style***
PROBLEM:
What do you do when a highly direct, aggressive, and fast-paced boss steamrolls your new idea? How do you handle it so it doesn’t crush your soul and INSTEAD creates a point of professional (and personal) empowerment?
SOLUTION:
Remember, boss-woman is likely a “D” behavioral style (her direct, aggressive, and fast-paced nature define her as such). That means she is results-focused and wants action. DO NOT take her comments about your work personally; in her mind, she is simply being honest so the team can move on to whatever comes next. Go back to the drawing board and find a way to make your ideas compelling to her via directly connecting those ideas to RESULTS that can help your team to WIN.
I’m offering a 2-day course at the UW-Madison on Feb 8-9, 2016. In this class, I’m going to continue this dialogue about D’s, teaching you everything you need to know to communicate more effectively and enhance your relationship with them. We will also cover i’s, S’s, and C’s, too, of course.
BONUS: I am going to teach you how to “people read” so you can guess the style of others without formally assessing them.
This course includes a formal Everything DiSC Assessment and Report.
Register by Jan 15th.
