As many of you may have heard, I am the newly-minted Director and Lead Instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Professional Life Coaching Certificate (PLCC) Program!
It’s truly my honor to be in this role. Taking on this position is a natural fit for me and a perfect next step on my professional growth path in many, many ways, including but not limited to:
- I get to return to my roots as an academic/teacher in a collegiate environment (many of you may remember that, once upon a time, I was a PhD candidate in Political Science);
- I am working on campus at the UW-Madison, my alma mater (#gobadgers), and the spirit and electricity of the campus are thrilling to be a part of once again;
- I am educating and training the next generation of coaching professionals, which is a priceless privilege, in my eyes;
- I am extending my reach and impact as a coach beyond what I can do single-handedly with my own clients; and
- I am maturing (or will be!) into a much, much more masterful coach myself (because, as we all know, mastery comes when you must teach something to others!).
So what does this UW appointment mean for my DiSC work, team-building trainings, and life and leadership coaching?
- I/my company and associates continue actively training Everything DiSC and The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team curriculum in organizations throughout Wisconsin, the Midwest, and across the country (getting ready for a Seattle jaunt at the end of the month!). I love this work, and I believe in the powerful and positive impact it makes in workplaces everywhere. I’m not giving it up anytime soon.
- I am actively coaching! I don’t think I’ll ever give up my coaching gig. It’s my calling. Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me if you are in need of some life or leadership coaching. If I’m not the right fit for you as a coach, I can point you to some incredibly talented coaches that I recommend highly.
- I am engaging and speaking and facilitating on a regular basis. Nothing new here, as I continue routinely accepting speaking and facilitation invites. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need a speaker or facilitator for your next event. If I can’t do it, it’s likely that I know some talented folks who can, and I’ll gladly share their names with you.
And, last but not least, if you are interested in learning about becoming a certified, professional coach and want to learn more, check out our website and let’s connect. If you’re a UW-Madison alumni, perhaps you want to “come back and be a badger” like me; I’d welcome it with open arms!
